Who We Are

The Stanbic Business Incubator (SBIncubator) is a purpose-driven initiative of Stanbic Bank Ghana, established to empower entrepreneurs and small businesses with the tools, knowledge, networks, and capital required to build resilient, sustainable, and competitive enterprises.

We recognize that Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of Ghana’s economy, and yet, many entrepreneurs lack access to the structured support systems necessary to turn potential into performance. That’s where we come in. Through a strategic mix of customized training programs, coaching, mentoring, financing facilitation, and market access initiatives, we walk alongside business owners and help them transform their ideas and passion into well-run, scalable ventures.

At the heart of our model is a belief in inclusive growth empowering women-led businesses, supporting youth innovation, nurturing rural enterprises, and strengthening local supply chains to unlock Ghana’s full entrepreneurial potential.

Our Journey

The Stanbic Business Incubator began in 2016 as an internal innovation within Stanbic Bank’s Enterprise Banking division. The vision was clear to create a structured platform that goes beyond traditional banking by addressing the broader needs of entrepreneurs and SMEs.

In 2019, this vision culminated in the launch of the SBIncubator Centre at Silver Star Towers, Airport City, Accra. This milestone marked the first time in Ghana’s history that a financial institution launched a dedicated incubator to support entrepreneurship. Since then, the Incubator has grown into a national brand, with partnerships that span government, the private sector, and international development agencies.

Today, the Stanbic Business Incubator is recognized as one of the leading enterprise development institutions in Ghana, known for its practical programs, inclusive approach, and deep commitment to long-term business sustainability.

From understanding the fundamentals of business model design, to mastering financial literacy, to implementing efficient operations and HR systems, our programs are crafted to ensure that SMEs can move from informal, survival-based operations to formal, growth-oriented enterprises.

Access to Markets

Entrepreneurs often face one key barrier to scaling: market access. At the SBIncubator, we proactively bridge this gap by facilitating strategic buyer-seller linkages, organizing market exhibitions and fairs, and connecting SMEs to corporate procurement opportunities.

We also prepare SMEs to participate in international trade, through export readiness training, product development support, and access to trade platforms. Our network of partners and alumni provides a vibrant ecosystem through which businesses can build visibility, credibility, and sustained demand.

Access to Finance

Even the best business ideas falter without capital. That’s why we work closely with venture capital firms, angel investors, grant bodies, and government agencies to help SMEs access the funding they need.

Our programs include investment readiness workshops, financial documentation support, credit application guidance, and even pitch competitions where entrepreneurs have the opportunity to secure grants or equity funding. We demystify finance and walk with our entrepreneurs every step of the way, from proposal development to disbursement and beyond.
