Chief Executive/ Executive Director
Kwamina was appointed Chief Executive on December 1, 2020. He previously served as Executive Director, Corporate & Investment Banking of the Bank from 2010 to 2020.
Career Highlights
- Kwamina began his professional career in 1997 at Cal Merchant Bank as a member of the Corporate Finance team until 2001 when he joined J. Kofi Bucknor & Associates, a boutique investment banking advisory firm. Kwamina left Ghana in 2002 to pursue further studies in the United States. During this period, he had a stint with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington DC. Upon graduation in 2004, he worked with JPMorgan Chase Bank in New York as Associate, High Yield Credit Research. In 2006, he joined the Leveraged Finance Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co in New York, and was promoted to Vice President in 2007.
- He currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of Stanbic Investment Management Services, Stanbic Bank Holdings and SBG Securities. He is a member of the University of Ghana’s College of Humanities Advisory Board. He is also a former director of Chirano Gold Mines (a subsidiary of Kinross Gold Corporation, Canada), and a former member of the Management Committee for the University of Ghana Business School.
- Kwamina graduated from the University of Ghana with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and received a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) in Finance from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1998 and completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at the Harvard Business School in 2019.
- Kwamina was appointed to the Stanbic Bank Ghana Board on September 9, 2010.
