Stanbic Bank Honours Police Constable Prince Fourdjour For Upholding the Highest Levels of Integrity

Stanbic Bank Ghana has commended Police Constable Prince Fourdjour for exhibiting the highest level of honesty and integrity at a time when virtues and values have become uncommon. On Friday July 2, at about 5:00pm, Constable Prince Fourdjour saw GHS 2,000 disbursed at a Stanbic Bank ATM at the Abeka Total Fuel Station with no recipient present to collect the cash.

Constable Fourdjour collected the cash and reported it to his boss, the Commander of the National Headquarters SWAT, Chief Superintendent Theodore Hlormenu, who then arranged for the money to be returned to Stanbic Bank. Speaking at a short ceremony at the Ghana Police Headquarters in Accra, Head of Marketing and Communications at Stanbic Bank, Mawuko Afadzinu said “It is important that we honour such behaviours that personify what the Police stands for. It shows us, in many ways, how we should live our lives as a country and we are here to celebrate Constable Prince Fourdjour for the values he stands for and the values the Police represents.”

Stanbic Bank presented a cheque of GHS 4,000 as a seed money for an investment account with Stanbic Investment Management Services (SIMS) together with a current account with an opening balance of GHS 1,000 and a gift voucher of GHS 1,000.

On his part, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) James Oppong-Boanuh, commended Constable Prince Fourdjour for exemplifying what the motto of the Ghana Police Service truly means and thanked Stanbic Bank for recognizing him for what he did. “As the Chief of Police in Ghana, I am very happy to see this act by one of my men. For an institution whose motto is ‘Service with Integrity’, Constable Fourdjour has really shown integrity. Integrity is what you do when no one is watching and that is exactly what he did. Let me also thank Stanbic Bank, on behalf of the Police, for recognizing that when someone does a good thing, he/she deserves to be commended,” Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh said.

The IGP further encouraged all Police Officers to remember what the motto of the institution says at all times in the conduct of their duties and in their lives. He added that “To the men and women of the Ghana Police, this is a sign that it is not all about the uniform you wear but you are also men and women of integrity”. The IGP to further show appreciation for the conduct of Constable Prince Fordjour and compliment the gesture by Stanbic Bank, gave Constable Fourdjour a cash reward of GHS 5,000.

The obviously elated Constable Prince Fourdjour expressed gratitude to Stanbic Bank and the Ghana Police Service for the recognition and honour done him. He said “I feel amazing and overwhelmed by what Stanbic Bank and the Police Administration has done and I thank them for what they have done. I never dreamt of anything like this happening to me at this moment and I am truly grateful to them.”
