Stanbic Bank Ghana Unveils New Labone Branch, Reaffirms Commitment to Client Experience
Stanbic Bank Ghana has officially opened its 41st branch in Labone, a suburb in the Greater Accra Region. The newly unveiled branch, described by executives as more than a traditional banking hall, has been designed as a “lounge” to deliver comfort, convenience and a personalized banking experience to customers.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Chief Executive of Stanbic Bank Ghana, Kwamina Asomaning, described the opening of the Labone branch as a proud moment for the entire Stanbic team. He noted that while digital banking continues to evolve and redefine customer expectations, physical branches remain critical in building trust and affirming the bank's long-term commitment to its clients.
“Even in a digital age where clients demand convenience and seamless mobile banking experiences, brick-and-mortar branches like this remain important. They provide a sense of permanence, credibility and a physical assurance of our presence,” he said.
The Chief Executive expressed appreciation to clients for their continued loyalty, and lauded the efforts of the Personal and Private Banking (PPB) team for their hard work in bringing the project to life.
He added that although the opening of the new branch is a milestone worth celebrating, the journey to deliver excellent service is ongoing. “Our clients’ needs are constantly changing, and we must change with them. We have invested heavily in technology to complement our physical presence, and we continue to train and upskill our staff to stay ahead of the curve and provide world-class service,” he noted.
Also speaking at the event, Eugene Ocansey, Head of Client Coverage, Personal and Private Banking at Stanbic Bank Ghana, described the new branch as a unique and elevated space tailored for client comfort.
“This is not just our 41st branch, it is a lounge. It has been designed to be a relaxing space where clients can feel at home while taking care of their financial needs. Acts like these show that we truly listen to our customers.”
He also referenced the recent relocation of the Lapaz branch to a more client-friendly facility, underscoring the bank’s responsiveness to client feedback. “When our clients at Lapaz raised concerns about space and access, we got to work immediately and delivered a new location that meets their needs. The Labone branch is yet another example of this approach, we always have our customers in mind,” he said.
Margaret Obimpeh, Head of Affluent Clients at Stanbic Bank, echoed similar sentiments, stating that the new branch will serve as a hub for delivering personalised services to high-net-worth clients.
“We are thrilled to be in Labone and are already looking forward to expanding further in East Legon. This new branch, as Eugene rightly said, is a lounge crafted with client comfort and premium service in mind,” she said. “Kudos to our staff and executives for making this possible.”
