Stanbic Bank Ghana Wins Two Awards at The EMEA African Banking Awards

Stanbic Bank Ghana has been named the best Bond House and the best Local Investment Bank in Ghana by EMEA Finance. This was announced in a press statement announcing the 2020 African Banking Awards winners in the thirteenth edition of the international awards.

The African Banking Awards, according to EMEA Finance, highlights / recognizes the best commercial and investment banks across the African continent, including brokers and asset managers.

The statement noted that “This year has presented complex challenges and difficult operating environments the likes that have not been seen for many decades. We thank all of this year’s participants in the submission process for bringing to our attention the many impressive initiatives that you have and continue to initiate in support of customers, communities and the public sector as we all work through and towards better and safer times”.

Commenting on the awards, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Stanbic Bank Ghana, Kwamina Asomaning, said over the years, the bank has worked to create specialist expertise in delivering universal financial services in Ghana and beyond.

“Stanbic Bank Ghana being a member of the Standard Bank Group has had close to 160years experience in delivering universal financial services on the African continent. This has given the bank a wealth of experience and specialist skills in critical areas within the financial services ecosystem. Our deal making prowess has been phenomenal in getting the best for our country and businesses we support and partner. The awards are a demonstration of our ability to deliver where it matters”, he said. 

Executive, Investment Banking Stanbic Bank for Ghana and WAEMU Region, Samuel Botchway, said “the award reflects the dedication, hard work and resilience of our staff, and our ability to leverage our Group resources to provide cogent solutions to our clients’ financial needs. We dedicate these awards to our clients that continue to give us the opportunity to serve them as well as our best-in-class staff who have been a part of this successful journey”, Mr. Botchway said. 

The Best Bond House and the Local Investment Bank Awards of the year bring to a total of six EMEA awards for Stanbic Bank over the past three years. Previous awards include best foreign bank (2018), Best Local Investment Bank (2019), Best Foreign Investment Bank (2019) and Best Bond House 2019).
